There are many traps available, here are some of them:

Basin P-Trap:

This type can be adjusted in many ways, so they are quite flexible. Very often this style of trap can have a height adjustment facility, great for use if you are fitting a new basin into an old site and having difficulty lining up the waste pipe work.

Basin S-Trap:

Usually used when the pipework rises up from the floor. They are very adjustable to suit this type of pipework. A Waltham Forest Plumber can fit these traps.

Basin BottleTrap:

The basin bottle trap is a neat looking unit, yet can block quite easily, they are also sometimes too wide to fit in the pedestal, but, you are able to buy mini-bottle traps to sort the problem. There are also traps with an adjustable height facility which is useful if the waste goes out through the wall. Waltham Forest Plumbers use all kinds of traps.

Basin Self-Sealing Trap:

Just like the S-trap in terms of plus and negatives, but they will not lose their water seal, great if it is fitted to a basin that is left for a long period of time. You should just need to hand tighten the trap, but if in doubt give it a final ¾ turn with a pair of pump pliers. Whatever you do, DO NOT start off with pliers, as the plastic thread of the trap can be very easily destroyed by the brass thread on the waste. Should the trap not hand tighten so easy, then you are more than likely cross threading it, start again using a new fitting.

Straight-through Basin Trap:

This type of trap is very well designed so that the waste pipe runs down inside the body of the trap itself. They can be awkward though, to get to in case of an emergency once everything is fitted. This is not as flexible as the S-Trap.
